Over the course of the last two months, fall sports have been in full swing. These sports include football, girls volleyball, girls soccer, boys soccer, girls cross country, and boys cross country. This week will be the last week of regular season games. Currently Clackamas’ football team has a game on Thursday, October 26th against Reynolds High School. The boys soccer team had a game on Tuesday the 24th also against Reynolds and unfortunately lost with a score of 1-2. Girls soccer had a game as well on Tuesday, and won with a score of 8-0!
The varsity football team has played a total of 8 games with 6 of those games being league games. Their league record is 3-3, with their overall record being 4-4. Throughout the season they have had many injuries leading to a lot of their starters being out for games. Whether that was the reason they have lost some games is unknown, but they put up a good fight in each and every game. With their season coming to an end the team is not eligible for the OSAA state championship playoffs, but are eligible for the Colombia Cup Playoffs.
The girls volleyball team has played a total of 25 games over all. 14 of those were league games. Their overall record is 6-19 and their league record is 4-10. They faced some tuff teams throughout the season. They kept their heads high and went into every game wanting to be 1-0. That’s all you can do.
The boys soccer team has played a total of 14 games with 7 of those being league games. Their overall record is 5-5-4 and their league record 1-4-2. Four of these games resulted in a tie. They are scheduled to play in the first round of OSAA state championship playoffs on Saturday, October 28th against Aloha at noon. Their season is not over just yet. They still have the opportunity to make history for their team and Clackamas High School.
The girls soccer team has played a total of 14 games, half of them being league games. Their overall record was 5-8-1 and their league record was 3-3-1. Only one of these games resulted in a tie. One of the roughest teams they’ve played was West Linn with several players having injuries and complaining of the other players’ aggressiveness. Nevertheless, they played hard throughout the season and stuck with it.
Both cross country teams have participated in a total of 6 meets, including the meet on October 25th where they went through rain and shine. They always run with heart and dedication!
Big congratulations to all teams this fall season and all your hard work. It has not gone unnoticed. Your victories and accomplishments are well deserved, and good job to all the seniors who participated in a fall sport. We hope it was a good last sports season for you. You will be missed by many teammates, friends, family, and fans. Go Cavs!
