ACMS Students Walk Out Over Concerns
Nearly 50 students carried signs and walked out of school Friday over concerns regarding a substitute at Alder Creek Middle School. School district officials reportedly received a report that the substitute inappropriately touched a female sixth-grade student earlier this year. Students shared they were concerned over not seeing enough being done regarding the incident. According to earlier reports, the school’s principal, Kelli Rhea says concerns were brought to her attention that the substitute “may have engaged in behaviors that made some students feel uncomfortable.” An investigation is underway that is expected to include interviews with students.
Earlier this year, students at Clackamas High School walked out after they raised concerns regarding a lack of communication coming from the administration regarding a student who was accused of sexual abuse.
